I used to want to be like Michael Jordan
Figure I would make the NBA and make me a fortune
But I found fortune in another way
Did everything my grandfather used to say
But at 23
I feel better than Michael Jordan. Shoutout to all of my bros that came through to surprise me for my B-Day last night. I also never thought I could ever be surprised but @katherineexo24 and @_bigpoppacrissy sure did. Turnup tonight!
DC treated us well whether it was on Howard or Georgetown. Opportunities to lead and fellowship with my brothers all over the world are not things that many people get to do. Leadership Summits like this one make me excited about the strong future of Groove. This picture, with two of my sons and two of our Founders Barry Hampton and Robert Simpson. #gφg #groovephigroove #leadership

"American Royalty" by Sam Spratt commissioned by Childish Gambino
Sam Spratt’s commissioned illustrations for actor/rapper Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino.
"What began as cover art for his mixtape ‘Royalty’ evolved into a series of Rockwell-esque vignettes on Americana meant to highlight the side of hip-hop that tends to take a back seat to “money, cars, and jewelry” – where you come from.
The collection of 10 illustrations cover a wide-spectrum of the little moments – the struggles, the simple pleasures, the risks, the irony, the humor, the hopes, and the realities of the American life that maybe isn’t quite so cookie cutter.” Prints available at royalty.samspratt.com.

To keep it simple…This is just an underlying problem that has been caused by the commodification of music and result of an artform (Hip-Hop) being reduced to a commodity. Shoutout to Trinidad for keeping it real though.
